Our founder brings a rare combination of skills to the world of watches: a background in design, hands-on experience servicing and making timepieces, and an unwavering love for the beauty that fine horology represents. Every detail matters — from the sweep of a hand across a dial to the weight of a case on the wrist.

From the Founder

Built from a simple idea: better watches, without the inflated price.

My name is Jack, and I started Atelier Melbourne because I wanted to create a watch that felt genuinely premium without the excessive markup that often comes with traditional watch brands.

I've always appreciated the look and feel of a well-made automatic watch. The weight on the wrist, the sweep of the seconds hand, the detail in the finishing, and the feeling that you are wearing something mechanical rather than disposable. But I also noticed a gap in the market.

A lot of affordable watches felt cheap, mass-produced, or generic. On the other end, many premium watches were priced out of reach for everyday people. I wanted to build something that sat in the middle: a watch with proper materials, reliable movement, strong water resistance, and a timeless design, without pretending to be something it is not.

That idea became Atelier Melbourne.

Every Atelier timepiece is hand assembled in Melbourne, Australia. Each watch is individually inspected, tested, and quality checked before being sent out. We do not aim to be a mass-production watch brand. We focus on small-batch timepieces that are made with care, attention to detail, and respect for the customer wearing them.

The Atelier Diver was designed to be a watch you can wear every day. It is built with a stainless steel case and bracelet, sapphire crystal, ceramic bezel, screw-down crown, genuine Japanese automatic movement, and 300 metres of water resistance. It has the weight, feel, and presence of a proper dive watch, while still being refined enough to wear with anything.

For me, the most important part of Atelier is trust. When someone buys from a smaller independent brand, they are putting faith in the person behind it. That is why every order is assembled, inspected, and backed by a two-year international warranty. I want every customer to feel confident that they are receiving something that has been properly checked, not just picked from a shelf and shipped out.

Atelier Melbourne is still growing, but the mission is simple: create quality automatic watches that feel premium, are built with honest materials, and offer real value.
